A LITTLE ABOUT ME

My Story

I'm currently an App Developer for BQMI at NASA's John Glen Research Center.  In December of 2017 I graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.. I could  often be found in those days in the Kent State University Advanced Telerobotics Research Laboratory.  I have created this website to share some of the work my colleagues and I are doing at Kent State University, as well as some neat projects other people have done that I have encountered during my research.

Caught Einstein's Eye

My colleagues and I are going to take this Kobuki TurtleBot, and turn it into an intelligent table robot.  TableBot will have 3 main capabilities.  One is to come to users upon verbal command and follow the user while they work on a task.  The second is to visit users in a room 1 at a time to serve them.  The last is to go back to it's original location when requested by the user.

Game Development

Here is an image from a computer game I created with Unity.  The game is based on "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears".  In the beginning of the game the player runs on top of the table.  You must eat the "just right" porridge in the green bowls, while avoiding the hot and cold porridge in the blue and red bowls.  You also must avoid the bears at the sides of the table.  The second level of the game the player must run through a field of moving chairs.

Robotic Movement

To improve the communication of users through telepresence robotic interactions, we at the Kent State University Advanced Telerobotic Research Laboratory built this Double telepresence robot with arms.  The face is a tablet displaying the face of the user as they control the robot from a pc.  A Kinect camera captures the users arm gestures and sends the data to the robot.  The robot then mimics the same gestures and relays the nonverbal communication.
